The
war in Novorossia sometimes disappears out of the news in Holland for days or
even weeks. They do report the contacts between so-called world leaders about
the situation and when the Kiev junta reports a victory somewhere that is
carried too, making use of de propaganda put out by Kiev. Victories by the
militia units are only reported when there are many casualties on the Kiev
side. The policy is clearly to show the militias as the aggressor. This comes
straight out of the American book. Civilian casualties caused by the Kiev
fascists are never reported. No pictures, no film footage, no written reports.
This side of the war does not exist, as far as the Dutch media is concerned.
Civilian casualties in Gaza are reported on a regular basis, which is clear
proof that the coverage of both conflicts is politically motivated.
Because
of the way the media handle the war in Novorossia, the Dutch public knows very
little about the true situation. The left wing organisations are silent, and
only a few individuals are trying to show the true face of the war in
Novorossia. The refugee aspect of the situation is also totally ignored. The
figures given by the UN are sometimes reported, but without comment. The media
are very careful to avoid reports which may create sympathy among the general
public for the people in the south east. This is not surprising because the
Dutch government follows the Americans and the Germans without hesitation. A
policy of their own on these matters is not even considered.
What
is also clear is that NATO is preparing for war. Day and night military planes
can be heard over the centre of Holland. No one knows where they come from, or
where they are going. But one thing is certain; they are all going east.
When
new facts become available, there will be a new report.
