/TASS/. Activists of the Commonwealth of Kursk movement, which restores
military and historical monuments in Poland, have completed an effort to repair
a Red Army cemetery in the south of the country, the movement’s leader Jerzy
Tyc said.
"Today, the
Commonwealth of Kursk has completed repairs of a Soviet cemetery in
Proszowice," Tyc wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.
A total of 641 Red
Army soldiers, mostly unidentified, are buried in Proszowice. The renovated
cemetery will be officially unveiled on April 14.
The Commonwealth of
Kursk is the only non-governmental organization in Poland that repairs WWII
monuments and burial sites of Soviet soldiers, who died liberating the country
from Nazi Germany.
