Donetsk republic reports almost 3,500 episodes of shelling over past week



Most intense shelling was reported along the line of engagement

MOSCOW, June 24. /TASS/. As many as 3,496 episodes of shelling on the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) by Ukrainian troops were reported in the past week, a spokesman for the DPR operational command said on Friday.

"During the week, Ukrainian troops were daily intensifying shelling of the DPR territory. In all, 3,496 episodes of shelling, including 2,284 from heavy weapons, were reported. In the past day alone, they fired 126 artillery shells," the spokesman told the Donetsk News Agency.

Most intense shelling was reported along the line of engagement.

Overnight to June 24, Donetsk’s suburbs, the cities of Makeyevka and Yasinovataya came under massive shelling. More than 220 electricity transmission substations, at least six houses, including multi-apartment buildings, and a children’s polyclinic were damaged.
