LUGANSK, August 8. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have shelled people’s militia positions in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) eight times over the past 24 hours using weapons that should have been withdrawn from the line of contact in accordance with the Minsk agreements, the LPR Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

"The area close to the village of Logvinovo was shelled from the direction of Mironovsky urban-type locality. Logvinovo was shelled three times with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars from the area close to Luganskoye settlement," LuganskInformTsentr news agency quotes the ministry’s spokesman as saying.

According to the people’s militia, the Ukrainian military shelled the villages of Veselogorovka and Kalinovka with 122-mm and 82-mm mortars from the direction of Troitskoye village. The artillery bombardment damaged a day-care center in Donetsky settlement and a power line. The Lozovoye village area was shelled with infantry combat vehicles from the Svetlodarsk direction. "No casualties," the ministry said.

Members of the Contact Group for the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine agreed at a meeting in Minsk on April 29 on a complete ceasefire in the Donbass region as of April 30. This is the eighth ceasefire agreement since the autumn of 2014. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian army has repeatedly violated the truce.
