MOSCOW, November 6 (RIA Novosti) – Kiev is seriously breaching the agreement reached in Geneva in April by activating its military in southeastern Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday.
According to the April 17 Geneva agreement, “the conflicting sides must refrain from any forceful actions, frightening, and provocations” between Kiev authorities and the authorities in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s republics.
Moscow has said it has doubts of returning to the Geneva format of talks on the situation in Ukraine. The Geneva format includes representatives from Russia, the European Union, the United States and Ukraine.
“It has become obvious that all of these agreements have been seriously breached by the Ukrainian side,” the ministry said on its website.
“In looking at the current situation, the question arises as to the practicality of returning to a format that has not brought the expected results,” the Russian ministry said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that instead of de-escalating the situation in eastern Ukraine, Kiev has begun “deploying heavy military equipment that has led to the deaths of thousands of human lives and great destruction.”
