/TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a state
visit on Thursday.
The Russian president
is due to hold talks in Bishkek with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbay
Jeenbekov, and later the two leaders will take part in the Russian-Kyrgyz
international conference and visit the museum of Soviet and Kyrgyz writer
Chyngyz Aitmatov.
"During the
talks the heads of state will discuss the current state and prospects of
developing Russian-Kyrgyz relations of strategic partnership and
alliance," the Kremlin press service said. "An exchange of views will
be held on the issues of deepening cooperation in regional associations,
including taking into account Kyrgyzstan’s presidency this year in the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization and the Collective Security Treaty Organization."

Ushakov earlier told reporters that the leaders are expected to sign a joint
statement. Besides, a solid package of intergovernmental, inter-agency,
regional and commercial documents will be signed in the presence of the leaders
that cover cooperation in various areas.
After the talks the
two presidents will attend a plenary session of the Russian-Kyrgyz Regional
Conference. At the end of Putin’s visit to Bishkek the two leaders will also
lay wreaths to the eternal flame.
