of the MPs said earlier that his party could nominate a female candidate for
Russia’s 2018 presidential election.

February 22. /TASS/. The Russian Constitution does not hold back women in any
way from becoming the country’s president, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said
on Wednesday.
"As for female presidential candidates, the answer is very simple - the Constitution of the Russian Federation - it provides a precise explanation of who can run for the presidency," Peskov stated.

Sergey
Mironov, leader of A Just Russia party, said earlier that his party could
