Militia claim Kiev shelled unrecognized Luhansk republic



The shelling comes shortly after Kiev and the self-proclaimed republics in Donbas agreed to establish ceasefire from December 23.

MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. The militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic have said Kiev forces fired mortar shells at the territory of the unrecognized republic four times.

The village of Krasny Liman, to the north of Slavyansk, was shelled from the 82-mm mortars from the positions in the village of Tryohizbenka. "A total of 17 shells have been fired on the LPR territory," a spokesperson told the LuganskInformCenter.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The shelling comes shortly after Kiev and the self-proclaimed republics in Donbas agreed to establish ceasefire from December 23 at the Contact Group’s meeting in Minsk on Tuesday.
