The charity doctor Elizaveta Glinka says Kiev’s
blockade of Donbas makes it impossible to offer treatment to critically ill
children at Ukrainian hospitals
MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Twelve critically ill children from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) are on their way to Russia, where they will receive necessary treatment, a charity doctor Elizaveta Glinka, known as Doctor Liza, accompanying the children, said on Friday.
"Four babies are under six months, four are under one year, and four — between 6 and 12 years of age," she said.
"Some children have inborn diseases of the nervous system, several others are with severe heart defects, two children will undergo second surgeries — they managed to survive the first stage and have good chances for recovery," the Donetsk News Agency quoted her.
As the bus crosses the border, it will head for the airport in Russia’s Rostov, from where a specially equipped plane will take the children to Moscow, where ambulance cars will take them to respective hospitals.
The doctor said Kiev’s blockade of Donbas makes it impossible to offer treatment to children at Ukrainian hospitals.
On October 22, she said she had brought to Russian for treatment 250 children from the Donetsk and Lugansk republics.
